Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) will star in John Patrick Shanley's new drama, The Danish Widow, as part of New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater season at Vassar College. Shanley directs the drama, which runs July 16-27.

The Danish Widow follows a female insurance investigator as she engages in a battle of wits with the play's title character. Shanley is also the author of the plays Doubt and Outside Mullingar, as well as the film Moonstruck, for which he received an Academy Award. Doubt is the winner of both the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Joining Sedgwick in the company are Broadway veterans Craig Bierko (Guys and Dolls), Matt McGrath (The Normal Heart), and Annika Boras (Macbeth).

New York Stage and Film's current season also includes Richard Greenberg's The Babylon Line, starring Josh Radnor and Leslie Bibb, as well as In Your Arms, a theatrical dance piece by Christopher Gattelli and Stephen Flaherty that features Robert Morse and Carole Shelley, among others.
