Cherry Lane Theatre will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a gala held at the theater on October 6. The event will honor three individuals who have contributed to Cherry Lane in various ways: Academy Award winner and Cherry Lane alum Estelle Parsons as well as David and Elizabeth McFadzean, two leading supporters and funders of the theater for the past two decades.

The evening will also feature appearances by Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis and Tony winner Judith Ivey. They will be joined by other yet-to-be-announced actors to perform selections from plays produced at Cherry Lane.

Parsons first appeared in a production at Cherry Lane in 1962 when she appeared in three plays: William Hanley's Mrs. Dally Has a Lover and Whisper Into My Good Ear and Terrence McNally's This Side of the Door.

Over the course of 90 years, Cherry Lane Theatre has produced plays by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, and many more.
