NYU Skirball Center Announces 2014-2015 Season

Cirque Alfonse, Mummenshanz, Visions Voices, and more have been added to the venue’s lineup.

The NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts has announced the selections in its 2014-2015 season.

The season will open with the previously reported Shakespeare's Globe production of King Lear, starring Joseph Marcell and directed by Bill Buckhurst. The show runs September 29-October 12.

Next up is the New York premiere of Timber!, a show from the Quebec-based circus troupe Cirque Alfonse, running from October 13-19. Then the Joshua Light Show Festival returns to the Skirball from October 23-25.

November will see the New York return of Mummenshanz's The Musicians of Silence from November 20-30, as well as the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players production of Ruddigore. Additional NYGASP productions of H.M.S. Pinafore and The Gondaliers will be seen throughout the season.

The Visions Voices Global Performance Series returns in February 2015, with a focus on Germany. The theatrical troupe Gob Squad will present Western Society from February 18-22. Circus Now: International Contemporary Circus Exposure 2015 will open the year, running from January 8-10.

Additional productions will be announced in the coming months.
