Grease's Max Crumm Will Be Fantastick Off-Broadway

The Broadway alum joins the cast of the long-running musical.

Broadway and film actor Max Crumm (Grease, Easy A) will join the off-Broadway cast of The Fantasticks, currently running at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center. Crumm takes on the lead role of Matt/The Boy, replacing actor Jim Schubin, beginning July 8.

The Fantasticks, featuring music by Harvey Schmidt and book, lyrics, and direction by Tom Jones, follows a boy and girl who fall in love and then quickly grow apart. The score includes hit songs such as "Try to Remember," "Soon It's Gonna Rain," and "They Were You."

The cast of The Fantasticks now features Jeremiah James as The Narrator, Jim Schubin as The Boy, Samantha Bruce as The Girl, Dan Sharkey as The Boy's Father, Kevin Free as The Girl's Father, MacIntyre Dixon as The Old Actor, Michael Nostrand as The Man Who Dies, and Pierce Cravens as The Mute. The production also features Scott Willis, Rita Markova, and Tom Flagg.
