Anthony Heald, Scott Lowell, Kathryn Meisle, and Henry Stram have been announced to join the cast of the upcoming Broadway production of Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning play, The Elephant Man. As previously announced, Tony nominee Scott Ellis will direct the production, which begins performances October 18 at the Booth Theatre and will open November 13. The Elephant Man will play a 13-week engagement through January 18.

The cast will also feature Bradley Cooper (American Hustle), Patricia Clarkson (Pieces of April), and Alessandro Nivola (The Winslow Boy). Based on a true story, the play follows Mrs. Kendal (Clarkson), a woman in Victorian England who befriends the disfigured John Merrick (Cooper), star of a traveling freak show.

The Elephant Man features scenic and projection design by Timothy R. Mackabee, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Philip S. Rosenberg, and sound design by Drew Levy.

The play first premiered on Broadway in 1979, with Philip Anglim starring in the title role. Billy Crudup played the role in a 2002 revival. The Bradley Cooper revival began at Williamstown Theatre Festival with many of the same cast members.
