Broadway Bares 23 Breaks Fundraising Record

The annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS event raised a record high of $1,430,241.

On Sunday night, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS raised a record-breaking $1,430,241 (compared to last year’s total of $1,254,176) through the 23rd edition of its annual star-studded burlesque show, this year entitled United Strips of America.

With 6,000 people filling the Roseland Ballroom, the show featured 220 partially clothed New York dancers and a number of similarly clad Broadway stars including two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek), Lesli Margherita (Matilda), Tony Award winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), and many more.

The event broke its fundraising record for the fourth year in a row, bringing the cumulative amount raised through all 23 editions of Broadway Bares to over $11.3 million.
