Tony Award Winner Victor Spinetti Has Died

Actor Victor Spinetti, who won a Tony Award and Theatre World Award in 1965 for his work in Oh, What a Lovely War, has died at age 82, according to reports.

A native of Wales, Spinetti worked frequently on the London stage, including roles in Candide, The Odd Couple, Peter Pan, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and his one-man show A Very Private Diary, among others.

Spinetti also worked steadily in film and television for over 40 years, including roles in three films featuring the Beatles -- A Hard Day's Night Help, and Magical Mystery Tour, as well as The Little Prince, The Return of the Pink Panther, Mistral's Daughter, and The Krays.
