Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's beloved musical combines the classic stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Cinderella, with an original fairy tale about a childless baker and his wife, to explore the meaning of "happily ever after."
Newly announced cast members include Ellen Harvey (Cinderella's Stepmother), Bethany Moore (Stepsister), Jennifer Rias (Stepsister), Sarah Stiles (Little Red Ridinghood), Kristine Zbornik (Jack's Mother), and Chip Zien -- who originated the role of the Baker in the 1987 Broadway production of Into the Woods -- as the Mysterious Man.
As previously reported, the cast will star Denis O'Hare as The Baker and Amy Adams as The Baker's Wife, along with Jack Broderick (Narrator), Gideon Glick (Jack), Cooper Grodin (Rapunzel's Prince), Ivan Hernandez (Cinderella's Prince/Wolf), Tina Johnson (Granny), Josh Lamon (Steward), Jessie Mueller (Cinderella), Donna Murphy (The Witch), Laura Shoop (Cinderella's Mother), and Tess Soltau (Rapunzel).
The non-Equity ensemble of Into the Woods features Victoria Cook, Johnny Newcomb, Noah Radcliffe, and Eric R. Williams.
The production will feature scenic design by John Lee Beatty and Soutra Gilmour; costume design by Emily Rebholz; movement direction by Liam Steel; sound design by Acme Sound Partners, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick; and musical direction by Paul Gemignani.
