Mark Harborth to Direct The Gallery Players’ The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice

The Gallery Players are set to present Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice, July 19-August 5. Gallery board president Mark Harborth will direct.

Othello tells of the marriage of a high-born Venetian lady to a Moorish general, their removal to Cyprus, and the subsequent violent undoing of that union.

The cast will feature Joe Beuerlein, Kevin Blackwelder, Mark Cajigao, Gowen Campbell, Ray Crisara, David Patrick Ford, Sidney Fortner, R.J. Foster, Mark A. Kinch, Louis Lavoie, Lesey Noyes, Matthew Roth, Lauren Sowa, and Montgomery Sutton.

The design team will include Giovanni Villari (set design), Scott A. Calley (lighting design), Jacob Subotnick (sound design), and Shana Goldberger (costume design). Fight choreography is by Joe Travers.
