Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin will narrate American Masters Joffrey: Mavericks of American Dance, to premiere nationally on Friday, December 28 at 9pm on PBS.

The show, part of PBS' acclaimed American Masters series, traces the struggles and triumphs of the famed dance company from 1956 to the present, and features interviews with former and current Joffrey dancers, as well as rare archival performance footage, including excerpts from signature works "Astarte," "Trinity," and "Billboards."

The series' other new offerings this fall will include The Day Carl Sandburg Died (September 24, 10pm); Woody Guthrie: Ain't Got Not Home (November 13, 8pm); and Inventing David Geffen (November 20, 8pm).
