The eight 2012 finalists to be screened in Tropfest will be seven minutes or less and will feature a bagel. There will also be a showcase of the "best of" of entries from the past 20 years of Tropfest.

A panel of celebrity judges, including Rose Byrne, Judah Friedlander, and Jennifer Westfeldt, will pick best film, best actor and best actress. The winner for best film gets $20,000 from The Motion Picture Association and a week of film industry meetings.

The event will also include musical performances by Alexi Murdoch, Doveman, and Milagres.
