Hugh Jackman to Host June 23 Tropfest in Bryant Park

Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman will host Tropfest, a festival of short films, to take place starting at 3pm on Saturday, June 23 at Bryant Park.

The eight 2012 finalists to be screened in Tropfest will be seven minutes or less and will feature a bagel. There will also be a showcase of the “best of” of entries from the past 20 years of Tropfest.

A panel of celebrity judges, including Rose Byrne, Judah Friedlander, and Jennifer Westfeldt, will pick best film, best actor and best actress. The winner for best film gets $20,000 from The Motion Picture Association and a week of film industry meetings.

The event will also include musical performances by Alexi Murdoch, Doveman, and Milagres.
