Chuck Cooper, Adriane Lenox, Lillias White to Star in Benefit Reading of James Baldwin’s The Amen Corner

Chuck Cooper, Adriane Lenox, and Lillias White will star in a benefit staged reading of James Baldwin’s The Amen Corner on June 18 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

Norm Lewis hosts the evening, which is part of Project1Voice’s Second Annual 1 Voice 1 Play 1 Day celebration.

Also starring in the production, which is directed by Walter Dallas with musical supervision by Cary Gant, are Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Hope Clark, Harriett D. Foy, Elain Graham, Ron Cephas Jones, Christopher Lane, Camilla Nichols, Patrick L. Riley, Jeffery V. Thompson, Flo Wiley, and Cheryl Wills.

The singing actors include LaRita Gaskins, Kimberly JaJuan, Leonard Joseph, Monroe Kent III, Nillleili DaMone, Danette Sheppard-Vaughn and Virginia Ann Woodruff. The National Alliance of Black Interpreters, New York City Chapter, will provide American Sign Language interpretation for the evening.
