Broadway’s Sister Act to End Run on August 26

The Broadway production of Sister Act will end its run at the Broadway Theatre on Sunday, August 26. It will have played 28 previews and 561 performances.

Jerry Zaks has directed the musical, based on the hit film of the same name, which tells the story of disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who is put in protective custody in a convent after witnessing her gangster boyfriend and his cronies commit a murder. The show features an original score by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater and a book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane.

The cast currently features Raven-Symone as Deloris Van Cartier, Carolee Carmello as Mother Superior, Fred Applegate as Monsignor, Sarah Bolt as Sister Mary Patrick, John Treacy Egan as Joey, Demond Green as TJ, Chester Gregory as Eddie, Kingsley Leggs as Curtis, Marla Mindelle as Sister Mary Robert, Audrie Neenan as Sister Mary Lazarus, and Caesar Samayoa as Pablo.
