Susan Stroman to Direct and Chroreograph Broadway’s Big Fish

Tony Award winner Susan Stroman will direct Big Fish, a new musical based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 Columbia Pictures film written by John August, which is aiming to bow on Broadway in Spring 2012. Bruce Cohen and Dan Jinks will produce the project. Casting and design team will be announced at a later date.


The show, which will feature a book by August and a score by Andrew Lippa, centers on the charismatic Edward Bloom, whose impossible stories of his life’s epic adventures frustrate his son Will, who must embark on his own journey to find out who his father really is.

Stroman is nominated for two 2011 Tony Awards for her work on The Scottsboro Boys. Her many credits include The Producers, Contact, Crazy For You, and Show Boat.


Lippa is currently represented on Broadway by The Addams Family, and his other musicals include The Wild Party and John & Jen.
