PHOTO FLASH: Wynton Marsalis and Essentially Ellington Alumni All-Stars at James Park Morton Interfaith Awards Dinner

Jazz legend Wynton Marsalis was honored at The Interfaith Center of New York’s ninth annual James Parks Morton Interfaith Awards Dinner at the Tribeca Rooftop on Monday, June 6. Nancy Giles hosted the event.


Marsalis is an internationally-acclaimed musician and composer, as well as the artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has won nine Grammy Awards for both jazz and classical records.


The evening’s entertainment was provided by The Essentially Ellington Alumni All Stars, which included Willie Applewhite on trombone, Tatum Greenblatt on trumpet, Alan Hampton on bass, Reggie Quinerly on drums, and Carmen Staaf on piano.
