Cast and creative team members behind Broadway’s Catch Me if You Can celebrated the release of the musical’s Original Cast Recording with a special performance and CD signing at Barnes and Noble’s 86th Street location on Tuesday, June 28.

On hand were cast members Norbert Leo Butz, Aaron Tveit, Kerry Butler, Nick Wyman, Linda Hart, Rachel de Benedet and songwriting team Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

The standing room only crowd was treated to performances of the songs “Fly, Fly Away,” (by Butler) “Goodbye” (by Tveit) and “Strange But True” (by Butz and Tveit), accompanied by Shaiman on the piano. The composer also performed “Fifty Checks,” a number that was cut in between the production’s Seattle tryout and Broadway bow, and is included on the CD.

The musical, playing at the Neil Simon Theatre, centers on a world-class con artist who is pursued by straight-arrow FBI agent. It features a book by Terrence McNally, based on the book and hit 2002 DreamWorks film of the same name.
