Actors Christian Camargo, Juliet Rylance and Mark Rylance and director Juliet Taymor were on hand to celebrate the groundbreaking for Theatre for a New Audience’s new theater complex in Brooklyn on June 23. The artists joined the theater’s artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz and chairman Theodore C. Rogers for the ceremony.

The organization’s new facility has been designed by architect Hugh Hardy and his team at H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture. The building will include a 299-seat, flexible theater designed for the performance of Shakespeare and classic drama. The facility will also have studio spaces with 50-99 seats for performance, rehearsal and events, a book kiosk, a lobby café, and theatrical support spaces.

As recently reported, Taymor will direct the inaugural production in the venue when it opens in 2013.
