Tony Award nominee Nina Arianda will star in the Broadway premiere of David Ives’ Venus in Fur, which will be presented by Manhattan Theatre Club in the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre beginning October 13, with an opening slated for November. Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie will once again direct the production, which had its world premiere Off-Broadway at Classic Stage Company in January 2010.

Arianda will be reprising her acclaimed breakthrough performance as Vanda, a preternaturally talented young actress is determined to land the lead in a new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Fur. Her emotionally charged audition for Thomas, the play’s adapter/director, becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex.

Casting for the role of Thomas will be announced in the coming weeks.

Arianda received a 2011 Tony nomination for her performance in Born Yesterday.
For her performance in Venus in Fur Off-Broadway, Arianda received a Theatre World Award, the Clarence Derwent Award, the Clive Barnes Award, and Drama League and Outer Critics Circle nominations.
