Hal Brooks will direct the Pearl Theatre Company’s production of Eugene Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano, to run September 13 – October 23 at New York City Center Stage II.

Brooks’ New York credits include the Obie Award-winning No Child…, Urge for Going, and Thom Pain, based on nothing, among others. In addition, he has directed for such regional theaters as McCarter Theatre, Berkeley Rep, American Conservatory Theater, and Dallas Theater Center, as well as for the Humana Festival of New American Plays at the Actors Theatre of Louisville.

The Bald Soprano is an absurdist look at two middle class couples as they share an early evening get-together. Casting will be announced in the near future.
