Broadway Revival of Godspell to Hold July 7 Open Call Auditions

Open call auditions will be held for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz’s landmark rock musical Godspell, at The Actors Chapel in midtown Manhattan, on Thursday, July 7 from 10am to 5pm.

Telsey + Company, the casting office for the production, is seeking musical theater performers with strong singing voices and comedic ability, ages 16-30. All ethnicities and types are welcome. Auditionees should prepare 16 bars of a pop song or contemporary musical theater song, to be sung a capella. Bring a photo and resume stapled together.

As previously reported, the production will begin previews at Circle in the Square Theatre on October 13, with an official opening set for November 7. Daniel Goldstein will direct, with choreography by Christopher Gattelli.

The show, which debuted Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre in 1971, is a take on biblical parables and the passion of Christ. It is conceived by original director John-Michael Tebelak, and features music and new lyrics from Schwartz.
