Bernadette Peters Set for June 25 Reading and Performance at Bronx Zoo

Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will read from and sign her latest children’s book, Stella Is A Star at the The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo Wild Asia Plaza on Saturday, June 25 at 1pm. Following the reading, Peters will sing “Broadway Barks,” an original song from her first children’s book of the same name.

Peters recently wrapped up a run in the Kennedy Center’s Broadway-bound revival of Follies. She has won two Tony Awards: for her performances in Song and Dance and Annie Get Your Gun. Among her numerous other Broadway credits are the original productions of Sunday in the Park With George and Into the Woods, and revivals of Gypsy and A Little Night Music.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book benefits Broadway Barks and goes towards saving the lives of animals in shelters and raising awareness about the beauty of adoption.
