Torchwood, Starring John Barrowman, to Return to TV in Summer 2011

A new 10-episode cycle of the British TV series Torchwood, starring theater veteran John Barrowman, is slated to air in summer 2011 on both Starz in the U.S and BBC One in the UK, according to published reports.

The show, which was spun off from the BBC's popular Doctor Who series, features Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, and concerns a covert British government team specializing in alien life.

Barrowman's many stage credits include La Cage Aux Folles, Robin Hood: The Pantomime Adventure, Company, Sunset Boulevard, Putting It Together, Anything Goes, and A Few Good Men.

His TV appearances include Desperate Housewives and the British reality series How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do, and I'd Do Anything. His solo recordings include Another Side and Music Music Music.
