TheaterMania Announces Twitter and Expanded Coverage of 2010 Tony Awards

TheaterMania is planning expanded coverage of this year’s Tony Awards, which will be held on Sunday, June 13 at Radio City Music Hall and aired live on CBS-TV. 2010 Tony Award nominee Sean Hayes will host the ceremony.

Beginning at 6pm EDT, visitors to TheaterMania.com will be able to watch a one-hour live video feed of arrivals from the Tony Award red carpet outside Radio City Music Hall, to be followed by a live broadcast of the creative Tony Awards from 7-8pm (EDT).

During these two hours, there will be “tweets” from within press room, which will discuss what the many stars of stage and screen who are presenting and attending will be wearing as they enter Radio City Music Hall, as well as comments from the Creative Arts Awards winners.

During the Tony broadcast, from 8pm-11pm, TheaterMania staff will be tweeting form the press room, sharing breaking news from interviews with the winners, and opinions about the awards. In addition, visitors to TheaterMania will also be able to interact with one another via Facebook chat.

TheaterMania.com will post an updated list of winners on its homepage as they are announced. After the completion of the ceremony, TheaterMania will post a news story on its homepage with extensive coverage of the winners’ comments from the press room.

On Monday, June 14, TheaterMania will continue its Tony Awards coverage with photos from the red carpet and the press room.
