The Tony Award-winning production of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake will return to New York City for a limited engagement at New York City Center, October 13-November 7.

Directed and choreographed by Bourne, the production is perhaps best known for replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble. It features set and costume designs by Lez Brotherston and lighting design by Rick Fisher.

The show’s Broadway run during the 1998-1999 season won Bourne Tony Awards for both direction and choreography, and an additional Tony for Lez Brotherton’s costumes. Additional awards include a Drama Desk for Unique Theatrical Experience.

The cast will include Richard Winsor and Jonathan Ollivier, alternating in the role of The Swan with Dominic North and Simon Williams as The Prince, Nina Goldman and Madelaine Brennan as The Queen, Shelby Williams as The Girlfriend, and Steve Kirkham and Ashley Bain as The Private Secretary. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

This New Adventures production is being brought to the U.S. by New York City Center, Sadler’s Wells Theater London, and Back Row Productions.
