Emmy Award winner and Fela! star Kevin Mambo has been added to the list of performers at the Second Annual Tommy Awards, to be presented on June 28 at the NYU Skirball Center. In addition, the previously reported Bryce Ryness, who was to host, will no longer participate due to schedule conflicts.

The event will honor composer Frank Wildhorn, whose many musicals include Jekyll and Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, Dracula, Bonnie and Clyde, and Wonderland.

The event will feature music by Wildhorn, as well as Jason Robert Brown, Laurence O’Keefe, Damon Intrabartolo, Kirsten Guenther, Jon Hartmere, and Jeff Thomson. Michael Schwartz will direct the program.

Additional participants will include American Idol contestant Donald Webber, Jr., ESPN anchor Reischea Canidate, recording artists Karmina, and performers Sarah Benjamin, Julie Boardman, Danielle Faitelson, Briga Heelan, Laurie Hymes, and Lara Janine.

The Tommy Awards honor extraordinary contributions made by University of Southern California alumni to New York’s business, cultural, sports and philanthropic communities. Also scheduled to be honored are financial author David Bach, The Blackstone Group Senior Managing Director Timothy Coleman, urban designer and architect Jonie Fu, and painter/art critic Peter Plagens.

All proceeds from the evening benefit the USC Alumni Club of New York’s scholarship fund for current and incoming students. A VIP reception will be held in the Rosenthal Pavilion at NYU’s Kimmel Center following the performance.
