Creel received Tony Award nominations for his performances in Hair and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Among his other credits are Mary Poppins, La Cage aux Folles, Bat Boy: The Musical and Fame - The Musical.

Creel's first solo recording, Goodtimenation, was released in 2006.
