Fresh Fruit Festival Announces 2010 Line-Up

The Fresh Fruit Festival has announced the line-up for its eighth annual season, July 10-31. The event features plays, performance, visual art, dance, poetry, music, and film that are intended to illustrate the creativity and the diversity of the LGBT community and its contributions to American culture.

Theater events will take place at the Cherry Lane Theater, and include the plays Too Old to Cry by Sean David Bennett; Hassan and Sylvia by Manuel Igrejas; Sarah Was Mine by Joe Fletcher; Whore Works by Juan Michael Porter II; Man Boobs by Christopher J. Julian; Lizzie Borden Took an Axe by Marjorie Conn; Seven Miles from Prison by David L Ray; Perfect European Man by DJ Salisbury; Cyma’s Story written and performed by Barbara Kahn; Wounds Unkissed written and performed by YaliniDream; That’s Entertainment featuring the two short plays, Belle and Angela by Matt Casarino and Carol Polcovar’s Going On; Monty Clift: The Rarest of Birds written and performed by Omar Prince; and My Willa, The Lives and Loves of Willa Cather written and performed by Prudence Holmes.

Additional events will include Night of Three Divas with Teresa Fischer, Ms.India.M, and Marieann Meringolo; Fresh Fruit Comedy Night featuring Robin Cloudand Janet Restino; The Ana Iza Experience; Erotic Cabaret; The Private & Secret World of Agnes de Garron; and the Fresh Fruit Poetry Slam, curated by Cookie Pemberton.
