David Duchovny will star in Neil LaBute’s The Break of Noon, to begin performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on October 28. As previously announced, Jo Bonney will direct the production, which is being co-produced by MCC Theater and the Geffen Playhouse. Additional casting for the New York engagement as well as complete casting for the Los Angeles portion of the run will be announced at a later date.

In Break of Noon, John Smith (to be played by Duchovny) is a man who, amidst the chaos and horror of the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God. His modern-day revelation creates a maelstrom of disbelief among everyone he knows.

Duchovny is perhaps best known for his Golden Globe-winning work on television’s The X-Files and Californication, as well as his portrayal of Dennis/Denise Bryson on Twin Peaks. Among his film credits are Evolution, Chaplin, Beethoven, Playing God The Joneses, Kalifornia, The Rapture, and Julia Has Two Lovers.
