Craig Bierko will join the previously announced Alice Eve, Johnny Galecki, Josh Hamilton, Justin Long, and Julia Stiles in Neil LaBute’s all new ‘shorts’ series, Filthy Talk for Troubled Times: Scenes of Intolerance, a benefit for MCC Theater, where LaBute is Playwright-in-Residence. Two of the previously announced performers, Bobby Cannavale and T.R. Knight will be unable to appear because of scheduling conflicts. LaBute will direct the performances, which will take place at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, on June 3, 4, and 5 at 7pm.

According to press notes, “Sex, sexism, bigotry and even “Frank f—-n’ Sinatra” are all given the one-two punch in this finely fused attack on the degraded rubble we sometimes call American culture.”

Proceeds will support MCC Theater’s Playwrights’ Coalition program, free PlayLab reading series and literary development activities.

As previously reported, another LaBute play The Break of Noon, directed by Jo Bonney, will open MCC’s 25th Anniversary Season this fall. The playwright’s other credits include reasons to be pretty, Fat Pig, and The Shape of Things.
