Bianca Marroquin to Play Daniela in Broadway’s In the Heights

Bianca Marroquin will play Daniela in the Broadway cast of the musical In the Heights, for a limited engagement June 12 – August 15.

The 2008 Tony Award winner for best musical, playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda, and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, the musical focuses on the tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan and the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.

Marroquin’s Broadway credits include Chicago and The Pajama Game. Her work in Bye Bye Birdieearned her an IRNE Award. In her native Mexico, Marroquin has appeared in Beauty and The Beast, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Vagina Monolgues, and The Sound of Music.

When Marroquin joins the production, the company will feature Corbin Bleu, Janet Dacal, Marcy Harriell, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Rick Négron, Courtney Reed, Noah Rivera and Seth Stewart.

The ensemble will include Tony Chiroldes, Dwayne Clark, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Marcus Paul James, Nina Lafarga, Jennifer Locke, Doreen Montalvo, Noah Rivera, Eliseo Román, Gabrielle Ruiz, Luis Salgado, Rickey Tripp, Blanca Camacho, Allison Thomas Lee, Alejandra Reyes, and Marcos Santana.
