Bartlett Sher to Direct Planned Broadway Funny Girl Revival

Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher is on board to direct a planned Broadway revival of the musical Funny Girl in the spring of 2012, according to a report in The New York Times.
The production, to be produced by Bob Boyett, is planning a six-week out-of-town tryout in late 2011. Venue and casting have not yet been determined.
Funny Girl has a book by Isobel Lennart and a score by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, and is about the Vaudeville and Ziegfeld Follies star, Fanny Brice and her husband, Nicky Arnstein.
