Alex Draper, Tara Giordano, Robert Emmet Lunney, et al. Set for PTP/NYC’s Summer Repertory Season

PTP/NYC (formerly The Potomac Theatre Project) has announced the four works that will be part of its 24th repertory season, to be offered July 6 – August 1 at Atlantic Stage 2.

A revival of David Rabe’s exploration of euthanasia, A Question of Mercy, to be directed by Jim Petosa, will open the series, beginning performances July 6. The season will also include a double bill of plays by Howard Barker that examine human polarization, cruelty and self-determination: the world premiere of Gary the Thief and Plevna: Meditations on Hatred, which will be directed by Richard Romagnoli, beginning performances on July 7. The third entry in the repertory season will be the New York premiere of Snoo Wilson’s play about Alan Turing, Lovesong of the Electric Bear, which will be directed by Cheryl Faraone and will begin performances on July 8.

The company for the productions will include Alex Draper, Robert Emmet Lunney, Tara Giordano, Martina Bonolis, Cassidy Boyd, Alex Cranmer, Claire Graves, Paula Langton, Willie McKay, Mat Nakitare, Martha Newman, Peter Schmitz, Nina Silver, Tim Spears, and Lilli Stein.

The creative team for the productions will include Chrstina Galvez (scenic design), Hallie Zieselman (lighting design), and Ross Bell (projection design), along with Danielle Vieves and Jimmy Wong, costume design and sound design, respectively, for Lovesong; and Emma Ermotti and Andrew Duncan Will, costume design and sound design, respectively, for Mercy.
