2010 East to Edinburgh Festival Lineup Is Announced

59E59 Theaters has announced the lineup of productions that will be presented as part of 2010 East to Edinburgh festival, to run July 19 – August 1. The event gives theater companies that are planning on taking shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival the opportunity to hone their work before departing.

Among the productions that will be part of the Festival are the musical Gibby Stone and Her Problem, with a book by Paul Andrew Perez and music and lyrics by George Griggs (July 15- August 1) and Jesse Andrews and Micah Shapiro in A Perhaps-Too-Intimate Evening of Music and Hilarity (July 22-24).

Other offerings will be Gyda Arber and Wendy Coyle’s interactive noir Suspicious Package (July 17, 24, 31); Vanessa Garcia and Wendy White’s look at two women from two different cultures Two Islands: Island Blogosphere and the Jewish Nun (July 17-18); a satire of the financial industry Righteous Money by Michael Yates Crowley (July 22-24); Steven Levenseon’s look at two rebellious young women at the turn of the last century, Retreat, (July 23-25); and Katie Hartman and Leah Rudick’s comedic Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting (July 28-31).

Solo shows that will be presented are Natalie Kim’s Yo Girl! (July 13-14, July 20); a double bill of Penny Pollack’s No Traveler and Scout Durwood’s How Can I Help You? (July 14-16), Mary MacDonald Hamill’s Mary&William (July 17-18, July 21), Jack Finnegan’s City Love Song (July 20-21, July 27), and Allison Hetzel’s Considering Georgia O’Keefe (July 31 – August 1).
