Samuel Kirk and Jason Vance will alternate in the role of Robinson Crusoe in the one-man outdoor play, Life On a Desert Island, to be performed free in New York City parks this summer.

Based on Daniel Defoe's 1719 classic, the show is set in 1659 as Robinson Crusoe, an English adventurer, finds himself the sole survivor of a shipwreck on an island off the coast of Trinidad. It has been adapted from Defoe's novel by playwright Ugljesa Sajtinac.

The show will first perform at Riverside Park June 27 and 28, and open in Central Park on July 11. For more information, and updates to the performance schedule, visit theatreplayground.com.
