The New Victory Theater has announced its 2009-2010 season of programming for kids and families.

The season will kick off with the New Victory Scottish Festival (September 18-November 1), featuring a puppet theater version of Cinderella; Andy Manley's intimate one-man show, My House; Puppet State Theatre Company's The Man Who Planted Trees; and Hansel and Gretel, a unique production of The Brothers Grimm fairytale requires that the entire New Victory be transformed from basement to balcony to accommodate the complex and intricate needs of a "promenade" theater piece.

British actor Brian Blessed will narrate Peter and the Wolf (November 13-29) featuring 10 dancers and an ensemble of eight musicians from the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra; neo-vaudeville troupe The Flaming Idiots will present the world premiere of Chestnuts Roasting on The Flaming Idiots (December 4-January 3); and Ontroerend Goed, KOPERGIETERY and Richard Jordan Productions, Ltd. will present Once and For All We're Gonna Tell You Who We Are So Shut Up and Listen (January 8-17).

The Opera Group, ROH2 at the Royal Opera House and the Young Vic will co-produce The Enchanted Pig (February 5-21); the Reduced Shakespeare Company will perform The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (March 5-14); Australian company Circa will present the aptly named 46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes (March 19-April 4); Parallel Exit will stage the dance-theater piece, Time Step (April 9-18); and South Africa's Dodgy Clutch and Market Theatre will present the U.S. premiere of Elephant (April 23-May 2), featuring enormous elephant puppets that are unbelievably lifelike and tender.

Spain's Yllana will present PaGAGnini (May 7-23), featuring twists on symphonic treasures and modern tunes, while Italy's T.P.O. Company will stage Farfalle: The Butterfly Garden (May 14-23), a participatory theater work that experiments with computer graphics and digital technologies.
