Hair to Celebrate New Broadway Cast Recording Release with Onstage Be-In

The cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will celebrate the release of Ghostlight Records’ new Broadway Cast Recording with an onstage “Be-In” at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre immediately following the 7:00 pm performance on June 23 (starting at approximately 9:45 pm). While the onstage signing is open to the public, ticket holders for that evening’s performance will have preferred access.

Fans will be invited to have their CDs autographed by “the tribe” and the show’s all-star band. June 23 will also mark the worldwide, in-store release date of the new recording, which is also currently available digitally via iTunes.

The album, which was recorded on April 6 at New York City’s Legacy Studios, is produced by Kurt Deutsch and Joel Moss with Bill Rosenfield acting as Executive Producer. The show features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The new album features never-before-released tracks, along with the show’s signature tunes such as “Aquarius,” “Let The Sun Shine In,” “Easy To Be Hard,” and “Good Morning Starshine.”

The full cast includes Sasha Allen, Ato Blankson-Wood, Steel Burkhardt, Jackie Burns, Briana Carlson-Goodman, Allison Case, Gavin Creel, Lauren Elder, Allison Guinn, Chasten Harmon, Anthony Hollock, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Kaitlin Kiyan, Andrew Kober, Josh Lamon, Megan Lawrence, Caissie Levy, Nicole Lewis, Ryan Link, John Moauro, Darius Nichols, Brandon Pearson, Paris Remillard, Megan Reinking, Bryce Ryness, Michael James Scott, Saycon Sengbloh, Maya Sharpe, Kacie Sheik, Theo Stockman, Will Swenson, and Tommar Wilson.

The band includes Nadia Digiallonardo (Conductor/Keyboard), Lon Hoyt (Assistant Conductor/Keyboard), Steve Bargonetti (Guitar), Andrew Schwartz (Guitar), Wilbur Bascomb (Bass), Allen Won (Woodwinds), Elaine Burt (Trumpet), Ronald Buttacavoli (Trumpet), Christian Jaudes (Trumpet), Vincent MacDermot (Trombone), Joe Cardello (Percussion), and Bernard Purdie (Drums).

The new Broadway production of Hair, directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage, won Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for revival of a musical.
