Bill Cosby to Play Avery Fisher Hall in October

Emmy Award winner Bill Cosby will play New York City’s Avery Fisher Hall on October 17 at 7 pm and 9:30 pm.

Cosby’s stand-up comedy performance will be presented without orchestra, and is a stop on his new tour that began in January 2009 and will continue through at least March 2010, with engagements in Minneapolis, Las Vegas, and many more additional cities.

As previously announced, Cosby will receive the Kennedy Center’s 12th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Monday, October 26. The ceremony will be taped for future television broadcast.

Cosby, one of the world’s foremost comedians and actors, is best known for his television work, which includes I Spy, The Bill Cosby Show, The Cosby Show, Cosby, and the animated series Hey, Hey, Hey, It’s Fat Albert. He starred in the film version of Neil Simon’s play California Suite, and other film credits include Hickey & Boggs, Uptown Saturday Night, Mother, Jugs & Sped, and Ghost Dad.
