2008 Tony Award nominee Laurie Metcalf will play the matriarch of a family of loan sharks in Easy Money, a new dramedy premiering this fall on the CW, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Metcalf is currently co-starring in David Mamet’s November as a beleaguered lesbian presidential speechwriter. She previously appeared on Broadway in My Thing of Love and won Drama Desk and Theatre World Awards for the 1985 Off-Broadway production of Balm in Gilead. She is best known for her Emmy Award-winning role as Jackie on the sitcom Roseanne.

In other television news from The Reporter, Emmy winner Alfre Woodard — who starred on Broadway in Drowning Crow — will join fellow Main Stem veteran Christian Slater in NBC’s My Own Worst Enemy. In the show, premiering this fall, Slater plays a man with a double life, one of which is as a spy.
