Juilliard School Announces 2008-2009 Season

The Juilliard School has announced its 2008-2009 season of public performances, encompassing over 700 events.

The school’s drama division will present Lucie Tiberghien’s production of Moliere’s The Misanthrope (October 22-26); Pam MacKinnon’s production of Lanford Wilson’s Burn This (November 13-17); Ethan McSweeny’s production of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa (December 11-15), and The Greeks, Part III; The Gods, adapted by John Barton and Kenneth Cavander and directed by Brian Mertes (February 12-16).

Other highlights of the season include Latin Lovers, an evening of South American and Cuban songs (January 14); CALIFORNIA: A Century of New Music (January 23-31), which features the work of such composers as John Adams, John Cage, and Lou Harrison; and Juilliard Dance Repertory (March 25-29), featuring works by Lar Lubovitch, Mark Morris, Twyla Tharp, and Ohad Naharin; and a production of Verdi’s Falstaff, directed by Stephen Wadsworth (April 22, 24, and 26).
