The national tour of the Roundabout Theatre Company's acclaimed revival of Reginald Rose's courtroom drama, Twelve Angry Men, will now continue through 2008. Richard Thomas will continue in his role as Juror #8, while the remainder of the cast for the tour will be announced at a later date.
The new 19-city tour will begin in Lexington, Kentucky on October 5, and include stops in Tampa, San Antonio, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto, Costa Mesa, Hartford, Nashville, and Fort Lauderdale, among other cities. The tour is scheduled to conclude in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 1, 2008.
The revival, directed by Scott Ellis, played at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre from October 2004 until May 2005; it earned three Tony Awards nominations, including Best Revival of a Play. The national tour, which starred Thomas and George Wendt, launched in September 2006 in New Haven and played in a total of 19 cities. The show won awards from such groups as the Independent Reviewers of New England.
