Tony Award winners Anika Noni Rose, Lea Salonga, and John Lloyd Young will participate in the 31st annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks in New York City. While their voices will be heard, they will not appear on the show’s live telecast.

The event will also feature the New York Pops, under the direction of Rob Fisher, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, and the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums.

The musical score for this year’s event will include a mix of patriotic standards, American classics, familiar movie music, and two original songs: “In Our Children’s Eyes” co-written by Tony winner Stephen Flaherty and William Schemerhorn, the event’s creative director, and “Just Beyond the Dream,” co-written by Schemerhorn and Brian Besterman.

There will also be new fireworks displays this year, including colored rain, golden palm fronds, kaleidoscope shells, multi-colored poinsettias, Cracker Jack shells, and large aqua jellyfish.
