Full Cast Announced for Grease

Full casting has been announced for the new Broadway production of Grease, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall. The show will begin previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on July 24 and will open officially on August 19.

Joining Max Crumm as Danny and Laura Osnes as Sandy are Ryan Patrick Binder as Doody, Susan Blommaert as Miss Lynch, Jeb Brown as Vince Fontaine, Stephen R. Buntrock as Teen Angel, Daniel Everidge as Roger, Allison Fischer as Patty, Robyn Hurder as Marty, Lindsay Mendez as Jan, Jenny Powers as Rizzo, Jose Restrepo as Sonny, Matthew Saldivar as Kenickie, Jamison Scott as Eugene, and Kirsten Wyatt as Frenchy. The show’s ensemble consists of Josh Franklin, Cody Green, Natalie Hill (as Cha-Cha), Matthew Hydzik, Emily Padgett, Keven Quillon, Brian Sears, Christina Sivrich, Amber Stone, and Anna Aimee White.

This production of Grease will feature the original book, music, and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, plus four songs that were written by others for the 1978 film version: “Sandy,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “You’re the One That I Want,” and “Grease.” The show will have scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, and sound design by Brian Ronan.

Crumm and Osnes were chosen for the roles of Danny and Sandy after 12 weeks of nationally televised auditions on the NBC-TV talent competition Grease: You’re the One That I Want. The two winners were announced during the show’s live finale episode on Sunday, March 25.

Binder’s credits include A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden and tours of such shows as Mamma Mia! and West Side Story. Blommaert has been seen Off-Broadway in Measure For Pleasure, Fucking A, Mary Rose, Reckless and other shows, in addition to her numerous regional appearances. Brown’s Broadway credits include High Fidelity, Ring of Fire, Aida, and I’m Not Rappaport. Buntrock played Curly in the 2002 Broadway revival of Oklahoma! and is currently starring as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.

Everidge will make his Broadway debut in Grease. Fischer created the role of Claudia in the Broadway musical Lestat. Hurder’s Broadway and tour credits include Chicago, The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, and Starlight Express. Mendez, who will make her Broadway debut in Grease, appeared in a European tour of the show. Powers’ credits include the Broadway musical Little Women and the City Center Encores! productions of Follies and Of Thee I Sing.

Restrepo appeared Off-Broadway in Fame on 42nd Street. Saldivar originated the role of Sammy in The Wedding Singer on Broadway. Scott’s credits include the Las Vegas companies of Hairspray and Saturday Night Fever. Wyatt has been seen on Broadway in High Fidelity, The Pajama Game, Urinetown, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
