Foa, Felciano, Jacoby, Kind, Ojeda, et al. Join Bay Street Season

Full cast and creative team have been announced for Turandot: Rumble for the Ring, a new rock opera co-created by Diane Paulus and Randy Weiner, to run July 10-August 5.

The show will star Mark Jacoby as the Emperor, Teal Wicks as Turandot, Matthew Scott Campbell as the Executioner, Ryan Dunn as the Botswana Brawler, Bryce Ryness as El Mysterio, Jr., Michael Lanning as El Mysterio, Sr., Manoel Felciano as Referee/MC, Don Stephenson as Nature Boy, Ray Willis as the Brain, Billy Kuehnlee as Handsome Dan, and Uzo Aduba as Liu.

The show will be directed by Paulus. The creative team features Scott Pask (sets), Emilio Sosa (costumes), Paul Miller (lighting), Tony Melfa (sound), Jess Patch (projections), Roger Butterly (music direction/arrangements), and Rick Sordelet (fight direction). The band will consist of Debra Barsha, Ed Chiarello, Nick Sardis, and Jared Scot Winzelberg.

Meanwhile, Barrett Foa, Richard Kind, Perry Ojeda, and Ana Reeder have joined the cast of the Bay Street’s new production of Charles Busch’s The Lady in Question, to be directed by Christopher Ashley and set to run August 14-September 2. Ojeda replaces Cheyenne Jackson, who bowed out to take over the leading role in the Broadway production of Xanadu, replacing the injured James Carpinello. As previously reported, Busch will play the leading role of diva Gertrude Garnet; the cast also includes Julie Halston, Larry Keith, Matt McGrath, and Kristine Nielsen.
