Diana Rigg to Star in Old Vic’s All About My Mother

Diana Rigg will star as Huma Rojo in Samuel Adamson’s world premiere stage adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar’s Oscar-winning 1999 film, All About My Mother, which will play the Old Vic, August 25-November 24. The production, to be directed by Tom Cairns, will open officially on September 4.

The production will also star Lesley Manville as Manuela, Colin Morgan as Esteban, Joanne Froggatt as Sister Rosa, and Charlotte Randle as Nina. The production is designed by Hildegard Bechtler, with lighting by Bruno Poet and sound by Christopher Shutt. It will feature the film score by Alberto Iglesias supplemented with new stage music by Ben and Max Ringham.

Rigg received the Tony Award and the Evening Standard Award for Medea and a Tony nomination for The Misanthrope. Her many London credits include Macbeth, Jumpers, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Mother Courage, Follies, and Suddenly Last Summer. Her numerous film and television credits include The Avengers, King Lear, A Little Night Music, and The Painted Veil.
