Works by Edward Albee and Katori Hall will be part of The Cherry Lane Theatre’s 2007-2008 season.

Hall’s Hoodoo Love, to be directed by Lucie Tiberghien, will play October 16-December 8, with an opening date of October 29. Originally seen as part of Cherry Lane’s Mentor Project in 2006, the play is a southern tale of love, magic, jealousy and secrets.

An evening of Albee one-acts, to include The American Dream and The Sandbox, will begin performances March 4, with an opening date of March 18. Both works were originally produced at the Cherry Lane, in 1961 and 1962 respectively, and are part of the theater’s Mainstage Heritage Series. Albee will be directing the two plays, pending scheduling conflicts.

In addition, the Cherry Lane will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Mentor Project program in 2008. This play development program features veteran playwrights mentoring emerging playwrights in three different showcase productions. Founding mentors Michael Weller and Charles Fuller will be joined by Jules Feiffer. Participating emerging playwrights will be announced at a later date.
