Anderson, Hanan, Lisitza, Moriber, Wyman, et al. Set for York’s I and Albert

Casting has been announced for the York Theatre Company’s Musicals in Mufti presentation of I and Albert, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Lee Adams and book by Jay Presson Allen, June 29-July 1 at the Theatre at Saint Peter’s (54th Street at Lexington Avenue). The production will be directed by Michael Montel.

Nancy Anderson will play Queen Victoria and Gerritt Vandermeer will play Prince Albert. The cast also includes Edwin Cahill, Roger DeWitt, Nick Galbraith, Stephen Mo Hanan, Ken Krugman, Lorinda Lisitza, Gabriella Malek, Brooke Sunny Moriber, Adam Riegler, Mackenzie Thomas, Sasha Weiss, and Nick Wyman.

This production marks the New York premiere of the musical, which tells the love story of Queen Victoria and her husband, Prince Albert, whose family life drastically differed with the images of previous British monarchs. I and Albert premiered at London’s Piccadilly Theatre in 1972, directed by John Schlesinger, and ran for 120 performances.
