Real-life couple Matt Bogart and Jessica Boevers will star in the world premiere production of the musical Ace, which will play at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis’ Mainstage from September 6 through October 1 before moving on to Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park, October 17-November 17. The show, a co-production of the two theaters, will be directed by Stafford Arima.

Written by Richard Obecracker and Robert Taylor, Ace is set in the 1950s and concerns a mysterious Army aviator who helps a troubled 10-year-old named Billy travel around the world in his dreams. As Billy embarks on a series of haunting and heroic adventures in World Wars I and II, he discovers that the secrets of his past may hold the key to his future.

Bogart has starred on Broadway in Aida and Miss Saigon; he is currently playing Pasha in the La Jolla Playhouse’s world premiere musical Zhivago. Boevers will be seen as Louise in Gypsy opposite Patti LuPone at this summer’s Ravinia Festival. Last season, she starred on Broadway in In My Life; her previous Main Stem credits include Oklahoma!, Rent, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Bogart and Boevers are engaged to be married later this summer.
