Hurt, Macy, Mason, Sisto, Thomas, et al. to Star in TNT’s Nightmares and Dreamscapes

Broadway veterans William Hurt, William H. Macy, Marsha Mason, Jeremy Sisto, and Richard Thomas will be among the cast of Nightmares and Dreamscapes, a four-episode series adapted from the short stories of Stephen King, that will air on Wednesdays, July 12-August 2 on TNT. The miniseries will also feature Tom Berenger, Claire Forlani, Ron Livingston, and Henry Thomas, among many other actors.

The miniseries will include adaptations of eight of King’s stories: “Battleground,” “Crouch’s End,” “Umney’s Last Case,” “The End of the World Mess,” “The Road Virus Heads North,” “The Fifth Quarter,” “Autopsy Room Four,” and “You Know They’ve Got a Hell of a Band.”

Hurt received a Tony Award nomination for Hurlyburly and won the Academy Award for Kiss of the Spider Woman. Macy played Howie Newsome in the 1988 revival of Our Town and is a co-founder of the Atlantic Theater Company. Mason, a four-time Oscar nominee, was seen on Broadway in Steel Magnolias. Sisto was recently seen on Broadway in Festen. Thomas, an Emmy Award winner for The Waltons, has starred on Broadway in A Naked Girl on the Appian Way and Copenhagen, and will headline the national tour of Twelve Angry Men.
