Daphne Rubin-Vega will star in the The New Group’s production of Seth Zvi Rosenfeld’s Everythings Turning Into Beautiful, July 17-August 26 at Theatre Row. The production will be directed by Carl Forsman. No other details are currently available.

The play, which features songs by Jimmie James, is about two songwriters facing their 40s and failure. Rosenfeld’s other plays include The Flatted Fifth. Bobby Cannavale and Annabella Sciorra were originally slated to star in the show but bowed out of the project due to upcoming film and television commitments.

Rubin-Vega is a two-time Tony Award nominee for Rent and Anna in the Tropics. Earlier this season, she was seen in the Lincoln Center Theater production of Bernarda Alba. She will return to Broadway this fall as Fantine in the revival of Les Misérables.

Forsman is the artistic director of Keen Company, for which he is currently directing In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer. His other credits include the New Group’s production of Sin (A Cardinal Deposed) and the Atlantic Theater Company’s production of The Bald Soprano and The Lesson.

The New Group is currently represented Off-Broadway by Jayson With a Y. The company will begin its 2006-2007 season in September with a revival of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie starring Cynthia Nixon. For more information, visit thenewgroup.org.
