Five original cast members of the 1970 Broadway musical Two by Two — Marilyn Cooper, Joan Copeland, Michael Karm, Tricia O’Neil, and Walter Willison — will come together to present scenes and numbers from the show in a free presentation at 6:30pm on Monday, June 12 at the New York Library for the Performing Arts (40 Lincoln Center Plaza).

The show, based on Clifford Odets’ The Flowering Peach, concerns the building of Noah’s Ark. The score is by Richard Rodgers and Martin Charnin, with a book by Peter Stone. The original cast also included the late Danny Kaye as Noah, Madeline Kahn as Goldie, and Harry Goz as Shem. Willison received a Tony Award nomination for his work, and he and O’Neil both won Theatre World Awards.

The presentation will include such cut songs as “You Couldn’t Please Me More,” “Forty Days and Forty Nights,” and “As Far as I’m Concerned,” along with better-known numbers such as “I Do Not Know A Day I Did Not Love You.” The event is part of the NYPL’s celebration of Odets’ centennial.
